At the Exhibition in Memory of the Artist Emanuil Grabovetsky

 

An exhibition devoted to Emanuil Grabovetsky's paintings took place on the 7^th and 9^th February in Netania in the Zhukovs' family apartment – the artist's children and grandchildren coming to Israel from the Crimea.

 

There are about 400 pictures in the painter's archive, among them a lot of bookplates, miniatures, colorful binders of the books illustrated by him, landscapes depicting the beauty of the Crimean Peninsula, and skillfully performed still life paintings.

 

Emanuil Grabovetsky – the participant of the Second World War, decorated by combat medals, had struggled in a partisans' brigade in the Crimean forests throughout the War.  He reflected this period in his pictures; in peaceful time he became the author of Partisan's Papakha Monument project. This monument stands at the forest edge on the way to Alushta city. It is well known both to the citizens and the guests of the Crimea.

 

Netania Exhibition showed the visitors how daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren appreciate their father and grandfather and keep memory of him and his works. Enormous labor, affection and understanding were required to place an exposition consisting of 360 works of art in an ordinary apartment, distribute them according to subjects and then conduct several tours for more than 100 visitors.

 

The organizers of this unusual exhibition – the painter's daughter Victoria and granddaughter Valentine not only conducted the tours but also told their guests about the creation history of every picture. His great-granddaughter Nina read the poem by famous Russian poetess Rimma Kozakova devoted to Partisan's Papakha Monument.

 

 

На выставке, посвященной памяти художника Эммануила Грабовецкого

 

7-го и 9-го февраля в Нетании в квартире Жуковых, приехавших в Израиль из Крыма, открылась выставка их отца и дедушки – известного художника Эммануила Грабовецкого. В архиве художника около 400 картин, множество экслибрисов, миниатюр и красочные обложки оформленных им книг, пейзажи, изображающие красоту природы Крыма, виды Израиля и блестяще выполненные натюрморты.

. Эммануил Грабовецкий – участник Второй Мировой Войны, награжденный боевыми орденами и медалями, большую часть войны он сражался  в партизанском отряде  в лесах Крыма и отразил это в своих картинах. А в мирное время стал автором проекта памятника Партизанская Шапка, он стоит у кромки леса по дороге на Алушту и хорошо известен жителям и гостям Крыма.

Эта выставка рассказала о том, как дорого творчество отца и дедушки его дочкам, внукам и правнукам. Для того, чтобы разместить экспозицию из 360 картин в квартире, распределить их по темам и потом провести несколько экскурсий, на которых уже побывало более 100 человек, необходим был огромный труд, понимание, любовь и бережное отношение к творчеству художника.

Организаторы выставки – дочь художника Виктория Жукова и внучка Валентина не только провели экскурсию и рассказали гостям о создании каждой картины, но и поведали историю жизни художника и всей семьи. Правнучка Нина прочитала стихотворение известного поэта Риммы Козаковой, посвященного памятнику Партизанская Шапка.
